I am not looking for one where I have to pay first.
What is a legitimate survey site where I can get paid some extra money?
The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.
Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.
Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

Reply:I have been making an extra income from doing surveys on the Internet for a year now, I can share with you a link that I used to help me get started, (that I found from a previous posting on Yahoo Answers)!
Reply:I do some survey sites, some game sites, and some pay to do offer sites, and have earned roughly $600 in 3 months time. Nothing great, but if you are already a stay at home, then the supplemental income is very helpful.
I've never paid out a penny, either. I don't use credit cards, I don't agree to buy anything, I don't sign up for trials that require payment if forgotten about, etc.
Here's my blog, which details 6 or 7 programs I use to earn money %26amp; gift cards at home.

Reply:I've listed some of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or recieved other rewards like gift cards or CDS) on the following site, if you are interested:

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).
There are others out there. Be careful though, there are also scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.
Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).
Also just recently came across a good survey ratings site that I've found very helpful:
